Apr 9, 2013 - Michael reviews the AN-94 Assault Rifle found in Black Ops 2, and actually tells of how this weapon exists in real life. « Back to the Weapons List. Assault Rifles are the workhorse weapons of Black Ops 2. They are ideal for medium-range engagements, and are effective at close or long range. You can take an Assault Rifle to any map and game mode and expect to do well.
The SWAT is the one of the weaker guns in teh game and it only gets half way decent with the select fire. Its rate of fire without SF is so slow that by the time you fire the second burst and your target is not dead you will be. Its range is pathetic too since it will take several bursts to down a guy at range. The stock is good but most of the weapons dont really need it unless you plan on walking around the whole map with your gun raised because its only real use is increased movement speed while ADS. Any gun that is full auto doesnt need it really but its preference. The starting weapon MTAR contends better in close range against SMG's due to its size.
Black Ops 2 Best An94 Class
Ladies and Gentlemen who are reading this I have loved the AK-47 of the COD series since MW2. Black Ops 1 brought the AK-47 into the lime light and it was my absolute favorite assault rifle in the game, back in MW2 it was the Prestige weapon, you either stayed at level 70 to use the AK or leave it after you Prestige. The AK has returned in the form of it's successor the AN-94, however this time you can bring it with you into your next Prestige but be warned though, this weapon is not a very easy weapon to you, however after reading the stats and weapon performance abilities I list you will be slightly confused.Let's begin.Weapon Profile.
An 94 Class Black Ops 2
In game the AN-94 is unlocked at Level 55 and is a moderate damage assault rifle, it deals a total of 40 points of damage up close and 24 at a distance. For reference this is the same damage profile as the M-TAR. However it's penetration damage performance is better than most assault rifles which gives you a bit more of an advantage firing opponents behind cover. The recoil is moderate. It doesn't kick high up but will raise ever so slightly upwards when you continuously fire the weapon by holding down the trigger.ADS speed is common for the Assault rifle class at 0.25 seconds, raise and drop time is also common. Raise speed is.70 seconds and.35 when Dropping the assault rifle to switch to a secondary. The range is good but at a distance of 29 meters the damage drops off to 33, meaning that ranges where assault rifles would normally still perform well will result in you getting several hit markers. The unique fire system of the real AN-94 is duplicated in Black Ops 2 but the weapon doesn't fire exactly at the same rate of the actual weapon, the first two shots fire at 900 RPM but quickly slows down to 625 RPM when you hold down the trigger. However it all comes down to preference, any of the optics will be a good choice. Here comes part where the AN-94 isn't actually an easy to use weapon.Although the AN-94 has low recoil, a unique firing mode and decent damage here is where the AN-94 needs to be mastered though. It's fire rate is slow and it's range ability is somewhat lacking.

The weapon's slow fire rate may cause you to loose fire fights and it's ranged combat lacks strength that many other assault rifles have.
